Sasha uses body and movement to create photo, film, and performance art that complements the beautiful and often hostile natural places in which she works.
A lifelong outdoorswoman, she has been enjoying the ups and downs of adventures outside ever since she was catapulted out of her dad’s ski pack and into a snowdrift as a baby. Since then, she’s taken matters into her own hands and has become an avid mountaineer, skier, paddler, and climber. She lives in Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and, try as she might, still hasn’t run out of mountains to climb. Not content with just hanging off of cliff faces, she discovered acrobatic arts in 2008 and after years of training, performing, and coaching, is an expert in hanging off of aerial hoop, silks, and sling too.
It was only a matter of time before she combined her love of wild places with her love for artistic movement. Though she can occasionally be found modelling or performing aerial indoors - particularly during the long, cold, Canadian winters - she specializes in creative photo, film, and performance projects in nature, both in the air as an aerialist and on the ground as an adventure athlete and model. Whether perched on rocky ledges or dancing above glacier crevasses, Sasha strives to complement and magnify the beauty of the natural world around her.
