SASHA GALITZKI

As a passionate aerial artist whose unique and captivating performances merge artistry with adventure, Sasha uses her skills to draw attention to beautiful and often vulnerable natural environments. It’s through this work that she's witnessed the drastic impact of the climate crisis, and now uses her lived experiences to draw attention to these changes.

 

A lifelong outdoorswoman, Sasha has been enjoying the ups and downs of adventures outside ever since she was catapulted out of her dad’s ski pack and into a snowdrift as a baby. Since then, she’s taken matters into her own hands and has become an avid mountaineer, skier, paddler, and climber. Not content hanging off of cliff faces, she discovered acrobatic arts in 2008 and after years of training, performing, and coaching, is an expert in hanging off of aerial hoop & silks too.

It was only a matter of time before she combined her love of wild places with her love for artistic movement. Sasha specializes in creative photo, film, and performance projects in nature, both in the air as an aerialist and on the ground as an adventure athlete and model. Whether perched on rocky ledges or dancing above glacier crevasses, Sasha strives to complement and magnify the beauty of the natural world around her.

In July 2024, Sasha faced a devastating personal loss when her home and much of her Jasper community was destroyed by wildfires. This tragedy has only strengthened her resolve to highlight the urgent need for climate action. She is renewing her commitment to using her art to shine a spotlight on the climate crisis, raising awareness of the impact of climate change on the places she loves and works to protect. Sasha's work now carries an even deeper significance as she channels her grief into a powerful message of environmental advocacy, emphasizing the necessity of preserving our planet for future generations.
